Workshop

Hello everybody!

I am very excited to announce that I will be running another online mixed tune workshop, focussing on Scottish and Scandinavian tunes. The workshops will be for all instruments at intermediate level and above, and will focus mainly on repertoire with some technical pointers where necessary.

I am a highly experienced fiddle teacher and performer with over 15 years experience under my belt. I was fortunate enough to be part of the SNAP (Sweden, North Pennines and Ploermel) music exchange programme which consisted of musicians from Halsingland in Sweden, Brittany and the North of England. It's fair to say SNAP kick-started my love for Scandinavian music and I was taught by some of the best folk musicians from Sweden who were truly inspiring. I would love to have the opportunity to pass on the tunes and skills that I have learned over the years.

I have a broad knowledge of Scottish traditional music and I am now based in Glasgow, Scotland. I grew up in a family of musicians and, due to my parent’s line of work, I met touring musicians from all around the world. I am part of iconic Scottish band, the Tannahill Weavers, with whom I have toured with internationally including the USA and Canada. I attended Lews Castle College UHI where I studied under Anna-Wendy Stevenson, Iain MacDonald of Battlefield Band fame and many other luminaries of the Scottish music scene.

The workshops will begin on Wednesday 22nd, September and will run through until Wednesday 15th, October. They will run weekly from 6pm until 7:30pm UK time and will cost £60 for four workshops.
